Kate is a senior in OOP and is excited and honored to be a part of such a great program. Kate is the Co-Vice President of Be the Change, captain of the varsity softball team, a PV tutor, and involved in National Charity League. She is looking forward to being a part of OOP, sharing people’s stories and new perspectives in the community. Kate is excited to explore the field of journalism and hopes to bring inspirational stories and podcasts to the program.

Maryam Soliman
Journalist Maryam Soliman is a junior at PVHS and is ecstatic to continue working with others and creating podcasts. . She looks forward to experimenting with different ideas and topics while showcasing all types of unique stories. Maryam loves learning about others and their experiences, and she is eager to highlight more diverse voices this year!

Maven Ding
Journalist Maven Ding is a junior at PVHS and she is looking forward to her third year in OOP. She loves to learn more about the world of journalism, and wants to have the ability to tell people’s stories and learn about their perspectives and experiences, along with so much more. Maven is the co-president of Morgan’s Message at PVHS, a PV tutor, has held many board positions within National Charity League, and is on the high school softball team while also playing competitive travel softball outside of school.

Ryan Derambakhsh
Journalist Ryan Derambakhsh is a junior at PVHS. He is passionate about singing and performing and is an active member of the PVHS Drama Department. When he is not on stage, you can catch Ryan debating in the Model United Nations program, where he practices public speaking and competitive argument skills.

Anna Kalty
Journalist Anna Kalty is a junior at PVHS. At school, Anna is a member of the Tradewinds Literary Magazine, the English Honors Society, CSF, the Social Science Honors Society, and is a co-vice president of the creative writing club. Outside of school, she is a volunteer for the city of Lomita at the railroad museum. She looks forward to being a part of OOP and learning about broadcast journalism!

Audrey Turner
Journalist Audrey Turner is a Junior at PV High and excited to be a part of OOP. Having previously been part of PVHS's Live From 205, she is excited to learn more about the medium of Podcasting. Audrey is an avid member of the Drama Department: She is the Assistant Stage Manager for shows, a Tech Olympics Team Captain, and a player on the PVHS competitive improv Comedy Sportz team.

Journalist Celeste Ogawa is a junior at PVHS and enjoys spending time with her two cats. When she isn’t cuddling her cats, she is watching the NBA. She is on the PVHS basketball team and participates in Mock Trial and Model United Nations. She enjoys researching and learning about people to share their stories through podcasting.

Supervisor Kristin Lyons, an NBCT since 2002, has taught high school English for more than 20 years--from both AP Language and AP English Literature to sheltered English classes for English-language learners. In 2016 she was pleased to inherit Open Orchard Productions from former advisor, Ms. Cindy Damon.
