Sedona Ding
Executive Producer Sedona Ding is a senior at Palos Verdes High School, and is looking forward to her fourth year of Open Orchard Productions. She loves informing others, while also learning and understanding other people’s stories. She uses Open Orchard Productions to further her passion for journalism, and help her explore different areas of interest. Sedona is also captain of the PVHS softball team, a PV tutor, a board member of Be the Change, and has been Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Vice President of National Charity League.

Kate Fukushima
Journalist Kate is a junior in OOP and is excited and honored to be a part of such a great program. Kate is involved in Be the Change, softball, and National Charity League. She is looking forward to being a part of OOP, sharing people’s stories and new perspectives in the community. Kate is excited to explore the field of journalism and hopes to bring inspirational stories and podcasts to the program.

Frances Stott
Website Manager Frances Stott is a senior at Palos Verdes High School and this is her third year in Open Orchards. Frances also participates in SNHS, CSF, stage crew, and is a board member of SHF. She is excited to be helping out again this year!

Maven Ding
Journalist Maven Ding is a sophomore at PVHS and she is looking forward to her second year in OOP. She is involved in Be The Change, National Charity League, and softball at PVHS as well as competitive travel softball. She is incredibly excited to learn more about the world of journalism, and to have the ability to tell people’s stories to learn about their perspectives and experiences, along with so much more.

Sia Presser
Journalist Sia Presser is a sophomore at PVHS. She is on the school basketball team, plays piano and sings in her free time. She also has a passion for photography and videography, and enjoys traveling. Sia is interested in featuring and elevating diverse voices through OOP.

Maryam Soliman
Journalist Maryam Soliman is a sophmore at PVHS and is ecstatic to continue working with others and creating podcasts. She is so excited to experiment with different ideas and topics. Maryam loves learning about others and their experiences, and she eager to discuss topics from different perspectives and points of view. Maryam feels incredibly lucky for this opportunity to learn about the world of journalism and hopes to add to the amazing library of podcasts that OOP has created.

Kristin Lyons
Supervisor Kristin Lyons, an NBCT since 2002, has taught high school English for more than 20 years--from both AP Language and AP English Literature to sheltered English classes for English-language learners. In 2016 she was pleased to inherit Open Orchard Productions from former advisor, Ms. Cindy Damon.

Cynthia Damon
Founder, Supervisor After a three year career in filmmaking and a six year career in advertising, Cindy Damon found her passion teaching high school English. Guiding her amazing team of journalists through building Open Orchard Productions has been exciting and inspiring.

Daniel Feldman
Founder, Website Manager Daniel learned webdesign in order to create the previous OOP site and had been in charge of researching and developing the backend technology that ran Open Orchard Productions. Daniel was not only an integral part of the school's Drumline and Engineering programs, but he was a also professional magician and a member of the Hollywood Magic Castle.

Throughout her life, Kimmy has been inspired by her mother, who works as a therapist, to connect with people by listening to their unique life stories. She saw Open Orchard Productions as a great opportunity to expand her mind through talking to others. After being an avid participant in her school’s yearbook program, Kimmy has loved the chance to utilize her journalism background in a new and modern way.

Ashley Overbeek has a penchant for capturing moments and sharing them with the world. In addition to her microphone, Ashley carries her camera around everywhere she goes. She had taken many of the photos used on the site, and currently works as an event photographer. Ashley plans on attending a four-year university and majoring in Environmental Analysis and Photography.

Connor has conducted many of the podcast interviews, has contributed to the creative elements of the site, and produced the site's promotional video. Even though Connor is a talented musician, he will be applying to colleges this fall as a physics major. Connor loves distance running and hopes to run for a university cross country team.

Rosie La Puma was a senior at Palos Verdes High School. As Project Manager, she had designed the previous logo for The Core and Open Orchard Productions, created posters for marketing, and conducted interviews for podcasts. She loves telling stories just as much as she loves hearing them.
